Why did you choose this as your graphic design example?
What kind of visual communication is it?
I chose this building sign as my example of good design because of
how simple and clean the font is and because of the untraditional vertical arrangement on the wall. 
What is the context in which the design appeared?
What is the purpose of the design?
The sign says “Bauhaus” and it was the name of a design institution that is now closed.
The sign was placed on the side of the building in a vertical position. 
What is the communication objective of the design?
The objective is to name the Bauhaus building.
What is the message of the design?
The message is that the school is clean, professional and forward-thinking.
Who is the sender of the design message?
The Bauhaus is the sender.
Who is the intended audience of the design message?
The students of the school, and the public. 
How does the typography contribute to the message and the purpose of the design?
The design of the font echoes the school beliefs of less is more,
by designing a sans serif font and making it as simplistic as possible
but still bold enough to send the message of the forward-thinking of the school.
Does the typography follow or break traditional typographic principles or rules?
The typography follows traditional principles of hierarchy and order by keeping things line up.
Does the type incorporate a concept?
Yes, the type was inspired by the Bauhaus principles of design being broken down
to the absolute essentials like geometric shapes.
Is typographic craft a significant issue within this design?
No, the typography makes the design.
